did anyone else cry like a baby

i watched this movie because i was bored and it was on tv and i ended up crying hysterically. i felt so bad for the kids, i also couldnt handle the nanny leaving at the end and i was just so happy evangeline learned how to read and stuff... was i just overemotional, which tends to happen, or did anyone else cry a lot?

I didn't cry at those parts, but I was on the verge of crying. Though, when my mom and I went to see it, at the end, I saw she was crying!! But, I was very emotional at those parts!!

Did you just accuse me of being skillful and delicious?

reply

Just saw it for the second time in two years.
I got choked up when Nanny tells Evangeline--"You will..." meaning she'll look like a bride...
and
when Evangeline says she hasn't gotten to the end of the story,
I cried when Nanny told Evangeline "YOU are the end of the story."

Those are the best lines in the movie.

I love when Nanny McPhee gives the little bow to the empty chair, that was so touching. And when Evangeline tosses the veil from her face, that just gave me chills. The entire end was just beautiful.

I teared. Just teared. I was afraid my sister would make fun of me, so I held it in. If she weren't their though, I would have bawled. That's the way I am, lol.

Buddy-I just like smiling; smiling's my favorite!

It almost got to me, but I held in for my own self-pride. The ending is just wonderful, though. Such a lovely film!

I cried during all the emotional and sentimental moments with my mum, the first time I saw it and the second time I watched it again tonight, i especially start to cry during moments when evangeline says her name and you realise she is going to become like the princess in her book and achieve her dreams. But also when the father says she always looked like that, when she returns changed and the children notice it but he doesn't, as he thinks she was perfect and beautiful already, I know people say this film is for kids but there are themes in it that I think adult will recognise hence for why we cry during those moments, that maybe children are too young to fully understand.

I sobbed. It's a wonderful movie.

Like a newborn baby!

The best line of all, for me, was "Nonsense. She's alwys looked like that." Even my five-year-old said, "Wow!" when he said that. Although she is already crazy about 'Darcy' anyway.

I predicted the outcome of this movie from the start. But I still got choked up at the end because the family was truly happy. I was like "Come on you durn idiot. Tell the girl you love her!" And the kids were not bratty at all because what they really needed was a mother that loved them.

reply

I have to agree with all of you as I also cried at several parts as well.

Just bought it on DVD and have only just finished watching it this minute.

Yeah I cried, I still am! Dammit!!!

I didn't cry like a baby but I did get teary eyed at the end. Great movie.

At two points.

1) When Evangeline returns, remade from a scullery maid into a confident lady, and the kids say "Who is that? A princess! A fairy princess!". Colin Firth says simply "It's Evangeline." Again the kids, "Are you sure it's Evangeline? It doesn't look anything like her." And Colin, "Nonsense. She's always looked like that.", and the look of love is on his face.

2) Nanny McPhee's final transformation at the end. Suddenly she looks divinely, gloriously, breathtakingly beautiful.

I could see the ending a thousand times and I would always get tripped up at those two points. Magic movie.
