question about MGM's Involvement???

Does anyone know why MGM is credited with producing the movie with StudioCanal and Universal, but Universal is listed as the Sole Distributor of the movie, not to mention Universal also Distributes the DVD. Does MGM have some TV right to this movie or something?????

They probably just threw in some money for the film. That happens a fair bit.
