Really crazy that this ended up being the final Frat Pack film where you had core members together (Vaughn/Owen Wilson/Ferrell). This is the second funniest frat pack film to me behind Old School, when I was watching Wedding Crashers if you had told me these guys would never work together again I'd be shocked. They were still in their prime, it's a shame they all had to sell out. I miss comedies like this. The Chazz Reinhold scene is seriously one of the funniest scenes in the history of movies imo.

Disagree. Crahers was wayyyy funnier than Old School.

Firstly, the whole academic competition thing in Old School was a contrived plot point, that really didn't make sense.

2) The BJ instructor in Old School was contrived. A sight gag, out of left field.

3) Old School had nothing to compare to the Chemistry between O. Wilson and Vaughn.

4) No woman was funny in Old School. Isla Fisher and Jayne Seymour were both hilarious in Crashers. Shoot, Grandma was hilarious too.

5) Will Ferrel was over the top in both movies, but in Crashers there's less of him.

6) Old School was Vince Vaughn on a leash. In Crashers, he's unleashed.(personal bias, I'm a big fan)

The Box Office results of the two movies testifies to the difference. Crashers was 4 times the hit that Old School was.

My point exactly. Name any scene in Old School that will never be forgotten. Crashers has a half dozen scenes that will go down in movie comedy history.

gregmays, Wedding Crashers made more money than Old School because Old School really launched the whole Frat Pack thing and made Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn stars (Zoolander was the very beginning but Old School made it gain a big following). Old School is what made the frat pack explode, leading to stuff like Wedding Crashers to be able to build on it and become even bigger hits.

What made Old School great was the dialog between Mitch, Frank, and Beanie. To me many of the physical gags were funny, but the dialog made the film. I LOVE Wedding Crashers too, it's my second favorite comedy of all time, but Old School is just my favorite.

Frank going streaking is one of the most memorable scenes in comedy history.

Wedding Crashers was the last Frat Pack film. They have not worked together regularly together since and Ferrell/Vaughn have been on a steep downward spiral, Tropic Thunder doesn't count because there is no Will Ferrell/Owen Wilson/Vince Vaughn. Stiller is part of the pack but unless he's co-starring with one of or some of those guys, it's not a frat pack film, same goes for the other guys. Black is not a core member. He wasn't in Old School, Wedding Crashers, Starsky and Hutch, Zoolander, or Dodgeball, and he only had a bit part in Anchorman. To me those are the 6 full on Frat Pack films, and he's not really in them. Black is an associate of the Pack due to working some of those guys in other movies, but he wasn't in those.

Would love to see the Frat Pack reunite for something, may it be for an Old School sequel or another movie directed by Todd Phillips. I just want to see another movie with at least 3 out of of Vaughn/Ferrell/Luke Wilson/Owen Wilson/Stiller (preferably all of them). I'm glad the Anchorman sequel didn't happen though, Adam McKay and Will Ferrell have made some garbage together since then and the whole musical idea for it sounded dumb.

The Apatow gang have made some hilarious movies (40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, Pineapple Express) and some other good (and mediocre) ones, but not as many classics on the level of Old School/Wedding Crashers. 40-Year Old Virgin is the only one that stacks up against those two, and outside of the other 2 I mentioned there aren't any others that are NON STOP hilarious.

Tropic Thunder came out in 08. Black & Stiller are "core members" of the pack and was ever so present in that. Crashers was hardly the last frat pack release.

Plus the Pack has evolved to include an "apatow chapter" which features the likes of Seth Rogan, Jason Segal, James Franco, Danny Mcbride and etc....

swingers was about ten years before crashers, but if i recall correctly that is a bit of a bromance movie too - vaughn again doing his thing
