Wedding Crashers (2005) versus The Internship (2013)

Wedding Crashers is my favorite comedy of all-time, due in no small part to the interplay between Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. The pair reunited for last year's The Internship. I didn't run out to see it because of the mediocre to negative reviews, but I finally watched it. For those who've seen both films, how do you think they compare?

I used to think I knew everything about the world. Now I just know that it's round.

There is no comparision. Wedding Crashers is gold, The Internship wasn't really that good.

reply

Yes, Wedding Crashers is gold, but The Internship has plenty of laughs.

This is probably going to be quite controversial but...

I saw The Internship before I saw Wedding Crashers (I know, I was so late to the party). I loved TI instantly, I've watched it a few times and still laugh just as much as the first time I saw it. I watched WC last night for the first time and much as I enjoyed it, I think seeing TI first kind of ruined WC for me. The chemistry between VV and OW was the same in both so I couldn't help but compare the two films.

I guess if I'd seen them the other way around I'd prefer WC like everyone else seems to, as it's the original.

That being said, I feel like I had more laugh out loud moments watching TI than WC.

Wedding Crashers is funnier and overall a better movie, while the Internship is like hanging out with two old friends you haven't seen in years, and you're just happy to see them.

Yeah, Wedding Crashers is definitely funnier and a better overall movie. But The Internship was pretty good too. Plus it had Rose Byrne in it, who I would take over either of the gals in Wedding Crashers. The Internship did have some funny moments, like when Chetty was asking the interns what behaviors were acceptable or not, and Vaugn and Wilson's characters were the only ones that were getting it wrong as well as the time when their team went out to the club together. They were both good movies, but Wedding Crashers was clearly better.
