It's been brought up a few times. I think the general consensus is that even if the PI could find out the truth it would have taken him longer to do it.

shareI since wondered if that was Sack's own logical deduction. They had clearly crashed that wedding and the fact that they had the audacity to return to the family home and talk about a made up charity with such unflinching enthusiasm meant it obviously wasn't their first time.
shareI wondered the same thing, but it's needed for the plot so I overlook that it doesn't make a lot of sense. I can see someone finding out those a fake names/non existent charity, but finding out their real names seems impossible with no information. Although it's luck THIS time they used their real first names.
