Ep 2 was really lame

I don't know what you think but IMO this episode was a big letdown, it was weak and stupid. They spent a whole episode building a credible character and the next week they show him being the total opposite of that just for the sake of 'wow, big surprise!'. But if something is shocking because it's absolutely unrealistic for me it's just bad writing.

But even without last week's episode it was lame. The big, horrible motive they were buliding up to in the ep was that his mother used to beat him up? And a frightened, small little girl didn't help him? Come on!
(Anyway, why didn't anyone asked him: why didn't YOU go to a teacher or a priest or a social service clerk or to a policeman to say something about being abused? It's not like you were being held on a chain in a basement.)
