How many people recognized the actor playing Brooks?

Did you have to look at the cast listing credits? He looked so darn familiar but I gave up and had replay the show from the beginning and look at the opening cast credits to see who it was.

I watched last weeks (9/28/12) episode without realizing it was an actor I was familiar with from other shows. It just clicked while I was watching this weeks (10/5/12) episode that I have seen him before but where?

I recognized him from "Northern Exposure."

He looked totally different, I kept on looking at him saying to myself I know I saw him somewhere before but I don't remember where. I was more than 1/2 way thru the episode when I gave up and restarted the show so I could read the cast credits. I honestly think I would never have guessed it was him on my own.

I never watched N/E but I enjoyed him in the Showtime series where he worked as probation officer with a gambling problem. He did a great acting job in this role.

It took me a while. I did some major waffling before today; "It looks like him, but, it doesn't; no, yes it is him..." I figured it out about half way through tonight's episode.

Last week I didn't recognize him at first, but I was happy to see him since I loved him on Northern Exposure! I watched him in Numb3rs also, but I loved him so funny on Northern Exposure! I liked he had longer hair like in NE, and in the end of tonight's episode in prison, he was wearing glasses like he wore in NE and he looked like he did in NE with being shaven! I loved seeing him on CSI:NY two weeks in a row, and I loved all the close-ups of him in tonight's episode! Not that I don't love CSI:NY, which I do! I hope they bring him back again, maybe to consult or something.

He has really unique lips and characteristic mouth-gestures and they showed lots of close shots of his mouth so it was pretty easy. But you're right, he looked a lot different than in his other works.

I recognized him by the end of the first episode. I loved him on Northern Exposure and was so exited to see him again!
