Obviously, we're supposed to like Jamie Lovato - and I do, at first glance. She could be Aiden and Jess' big sister, with all their similarities in looks and attitude. Just as feisty but more grounded than Aiden, and just as friendly but less angelic (to coin a phrase) than Jess the ever-good-humoured.

My only gripe, and it's a small one, is that not one of the cops I have ever known would turn up for a new assignment in anything but professional attire, be it uniform or court suit! I get that she was supposed to appear as if she was on the other side of the law, at first, but a cop would never be told, "Okay, your cover is blown. Go straight to your new precinct and don't even stop to change out of your druggie duds." Heck no. She'd sit cooling her heels in her home office for a week while they figured out if her residence was safe, how to relocate and reassign her and debriefed her on every contact she ever made.

Other than that, I wish her (and Ms. Martinez) well. And Flack. I think she's already got his number, in more ways than one.

I never even though of that part about what happens after a cop's cover is blown. But you are right, it did seem kinda strange. It was more strange that the cops see her knock down a suspect, don't even ask if she's okay. Also, not sure why she expected Flack to know who she was and stuff.

EDIT: TV still makes men and women look dumb, sometimes.

I'm actually kind of annoyed by who they cast I know she is Latina while Emmanuelle Vaugier is of obvious French decent, but come on couldn't they have given him a partner who was like blonde or something so that if he did end up falling in love with her it would be based off her personality and not like the partner he was in love with who got shot! I loved Jess and I really wished she hadn't gotten wrote off the show, but anyone who has watched the show for long enough will notice the direct similarity between the two characters.

If they do put the characters together I find it plausible that he calls her Jess by mistake at some point.
