Mac becoming unlikeable....Spoiler s

You got to wonder why they are going this route. He has a crew who cares about him and all he does is brood and pushes them away. I find it hard to believe he finally has a woman and a good friend and he can't even talk to them on something this simple. Makes all the years of watching him seem pointless.

Who is Matt?

I meant to spell it Mac not Matt thanks for the wake-up call.

I partly agree with you but I can also see why he would trying so hard to keep his condition a secret. Even if he only told those closest to him and who he trusts, his entire career would be in jeopardy if the extent of his problem got out. I'm sure in the police station and lab, "even walls have ears." I think he's just trying to protect everything he's worked for. I do also wish he would open up those closest to him who I'm sure would do everything to help him and also keep his secret so he could keep his job. The writers could have him tell everyone in his own home for privacy and to make sure no one he didn't want to hear, heard.

Mac has been cold and distant for way to long, I have been a fan since the beginning and there has been no one giving him the support he gets from his current gals. She had been in the hospital for weeks bringing prayer for him with her rosary beads and being there for his recovery. If that is not love then It went over my head. And he shuts her out. He knows his gal in the office would NEVER compromise him, so why shut them out.

The brooding Mac has worn thin over the seasons and they even showed his dead wife to say she approved of his relationship with his gals.

This is really over the top, why take us through Mac will finally accept a woman who gets him only to have him behave like a spoiled child in his reasoning. If it's over at the office then it's over, there is no need to have him push the women who cares for him probably more than his dead wife away to push another cliche of a brooding man who is so into himself he can't relate to strong females who have his best interest at heart.

Men have evolved from this insecure neanderthal mode, I wish the writers would acknowledge this this also.

I completely agree with you that the writers need to fix this Mac's personality change problem....ARE YOU LISTENING, CBS?

Apparently they were listening to us because he did come to her with hat in hand. This is more than likely there last season and it hurts DVD and the overall sales of the series to follow a broken Mac around not getting help from anyone. This should have been a no brainer.

Mrs_Horatio_Caine,
Actually, Mac's problem is not that uncommon. For 40 years I've had a problem finding the word I need. Sometimes it causes strange looks from people who don't know me. My grandson gets really mad at me when I use the wrong word or can't find the a word at all.

I learned a long time ago to just roll with it. If I can't find the word I describe what I am trying to say or just use a word that pops in my mind. Friends, family and co-workers learned to live with it, help me out, and just laugh at me.

Sometimes you have to accept what God gives you and go with it. Mac needs to lighten up. It will get easier to deal with over time. The way he is treating his problem only makes it worse. Maybe if his friends know about the problem they can help him out by finishing the thought for him. That's what my friends do for me.

Also, I think it's a pride issue for Mac as well. But then, I think it's a pride issue for all of us if we were in this position as Mac is.

Since Claire was killed, Mac had no one to talk with and is too proud to admit his issues with friends and co workers.

Christine said it best last week, his pride is not only his strength but also his weakness.

I don't even think he would tell Stella if she was still on the show.
