What happened to Mac forgeting things

In the last episode he did not forget anything as in the previous episodes is he getting better. Or are they dropping the story.

He doesn't seem to be forgetting as much but maybe they don't want to have it in every episode.

Mac's girlfriend asked how he was doing with reabilatation at the begning of the epasode. He said the doctors said he was continuing to inprove.What's her name again?
