Who else thinks xxxxx is doomed? (spoilers)

So, Mac proposed to his girlfriend Christine and she accepted. Who else gets the feeling that she'll end up being killed off in the near future? I almost expected a drive-by shooting to happen right after she said yes.

There's just something about the way they've been spending time building up their relationship onscreen that makes me think they're going to pull the rug out from under everyone.

I honestly don't know, but down deep I don't think so. Why? The past couple of season finales (Seasons 7 and 8) were written as thought the series would be cancelled, to provide closure in the event there were no more episodes. At least, that is how I saw it.

This season, I read somewhere that the writers were going to focus more on their personal lives, and they have begun that. With the finale for Season 9 written in that same vein, I honestly could see that, if there is a Season 10, Mac and Christine's lives will go on, as will everyone else's, and again if there is a Season 10 (and I hope there is because I love this show), we will see more of that personal view. It would be interesting to see Christine adjusting to life as the wife of a detective, Lindsay and Messer's new baby, Flack's love life, and even the burgeoning relationship between Jo and Sid. I think Jo and Sid may be drawn even closer together, and like Mac and Christine, they started out as good friends. It would be great to see and I truly hope the series is renewed, even if it is for one more year.

Also, I have lymphoma, like Sid. I think that's another reason I hope so strongly that there should be a Season 10 - lymphoma isn't something that kills you right away, nor does it abate right away when treatment is begun, and to see sid dealing with this illness (and Jo's supportiveness) adds a really human element to the series.

I hope not. I thought the ending was great.

They could have easily killed her off a half dozen times over, if they wanted to, in the kidnapping two part story they ran before the season/show finale. I think they just wanted to wrap up the story line for the shippers.

Of course, if they get another season to play with, there's no guarantee Leonard Brooks won't escape from prison and burn down Christine's restaurant with her in it....

I don't see them killing her off, to the happiness of those who hate her and wish Mac would go out with Jo instead. (Yes, I'm serious.)

That being said, I would be pissed if they killed her off because he seems happy.

Indeed, this isn't "Criminal Minds"..... I think only one character on that show can be described as even somewhat "happy."

I'm pretty sure they wrapped up for good, but I'm hoping to see the CSI:NY wedding and birth and engagement and retirement and transfer to Hawaii and multiple promotion finale next year.

Which is exactly why I think they might kill her off. Characters in police dramas rarely get happy endings.

Exactly. I don't think they'll kill her off before the end of the season, but if the show comes back, I could see something tragic happening to her.
