I honestly don't know, but down deep I don't think so. Why? The past couple of season finales (Seasons 7 and 8) were written as thought the series would be cancelled, to provide closure in the event there were no more episodes. At least, that is how I saw it.
This season, I read somewhere that the writers were going to focus more on their personal lives, and they have begun that. With the finale for Season 9 written in that same vein, I honestly could see that, if there is a Season 10, Mac and Christine's lives will go on, as will everyone else's, and again if there is a Season 10 (and I hope there is because I love this show), we will see more of that personal view. It would be interesting to see Christine adjusting to life as the wife of a detective, Lindsay and Messer's new baby, Flack's love life, and even the burgeoning relationship between Jo and Sid. I think Jo and Sid may be drawn even closer together, and like Mac and Christine, they started out as good friends. It would be great to see and I truly hope the series is renewed, even if it is for one more year.
Also, I have lymphoma, like Sid. I think that's another reason I hope so strongly that there should be a Season 10 - lymphoma isn't something that kills you right away, nor does it abate right away when treatment is begun, and to see sid dealing with this illness (and Jo's supportiveness) adds a really human element to the series.
