Mac Taylor's future

If CSI: NY does indeed get axed in the near future, I wonder if loose ends with Mac could be tied up in a future episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. I would find it...interesting if Mac were to elope to Las Vegas with the new love of his life only to get kidnapped by goons that D.B. Russell and his team must go after.

I admit that I have only seen one episode of CSI: NY in its entirety--the second part of that recent crossover story that began on the mother ship. I was disappointed that, aside from flashback footage, Elisabeth Shue did not appear in the second part. There could've been at least one scene where Finn talks with D.B. over the phone or whatever.
