Annoying posh English b1tches

And I'm English!

Why does Hollywood insist upon perpetuating these annoyingly stuck-up and fake stereotypical English characters (blonde and brunette)?

Why don't these morons just throw in red post boxes, double-decker buses and Tower Bridge?

reply

Do these characters annoy you because they're:
a) posh;
b) b1tches;
c) stuck-up;
d) fake;
e) stereotypical, or
f) some or all of the above?

Do you think CSI needs some chavettes with real accents, fake tans, hair extensions and 38KK boobs falling out of their tops? (Please don't say yes. Then they'd have to subtitle the show and airbrush out the cigarettes.)

I think it's fair enough to show professional English women with "posh"/RP accents. I think one of the women you're complaining about is meant to be a medic of some kind, so you'd expect them to speak naicely.

I'm not sure which character you think is a b1tch or stuck-up or fake, or even how you decide these things.

As for the characters being stereotypical, how much nuance do you expect from the writers and actors of CSI:NY when they're portraying a foreign culture? If nuance and accuracy are crucial to you, perhaps you'd be better off with "Silent Witness." (I think it's a much better program.)

Oooh, someone's a little steamed up, armed with their PC pamphlet!

Hang on. Your post is very clear when read as a reply to the original post by jh66, but less so as a reply to what I wrote. (I can't see anything remotely PC about what I said: just the opposite!)

Did you accidentally reply to me, instead of jh66?
