Their one night stand, was that so random or what ? It wasn't even worth it to do it as a side story, but just got included as part of a montage at the start of season 6.

I think it was to do with showing the different ways that people react to events that affect them personally. In this case, Jess's death and then the shooting at the bar!

yeah I was quite shocked to find out they had a one night stand...but now thinking back, I think there were a few little "hints" dropped beforehand that might've suggested that Adam could've had an attraction towards Stella...or is it just me?

Still, the idea of Stella & Adam just seems weird to me, they just seem like such an odd/mis-matched pairing, so I'm glad they only had a one night stand and it was all over.

Stella and Mac or Stella and Shelton seems like a better pairing.

The same thing happened a long time ago on Hunter (1984), then McCall (the female) left the show. It made no sense at all.
