One of the Worst Movies I have Ever Seen

I'm a huge horror, thriller, and mystery buff so I have seen a LOT of bad movies because in those genres for every 1 good movie you get like 5 bad ones. But even taking into account all the bad movies I've seen this has to be one of the worst.

The characters are all 1 dimensional, obnoxious stock characters. For some reason they are all very rude and sassy toward each other from the very beginning; they don't even let the suspense or desperation build up before the characters are at each other's throats.

The first death is unnecessarily cheesy. Considering that there is a gun, broken shards of glass, and several other ways to die, they chose a really fake-looking, laughably bad bump to the head.

The scene where there is back-to-back songs playing and they're all dancing and drinking is RIDICULOUS. It might make sense if it was a montage of time passing, but they could have done the exact same scene without the music and the slow motion and actually had some character development. There was actually not much dialogue throughout the whole movie, a lot of the "drama" was conveyed through shots of the characters staring forlornly into space. There were also some unintentionally hilarious scenes of characters curled up on the floor eating scraps of food, which I assume was meant to convey their paranoia but just looked silly.

I feel bad for Dennis Hopper. An academy-award and golden globe nominated actor coming out in this garbage. This is a notch or two below even the Super Mario movie or Waterworld. In fact, I feel bad for all the actors, even the unknowns. Some of them phoned in their performances but the main problem was the terrible script and editing. They all deserved better.

Yeah, this is a piece of shit in so many ways. The black guy and the cop were just awful, the French guy was over the top. There were some good if recycled ideas but too many bad decisions sunk the boat. I will however give it to them for the ending. Of all the Ten Little Expletives movies like this one I’ve seen, none have done that ending.
