Still Rian Johnson's best film to date

I liked the first Glass Onion film and Looper is pretty great.

But his debut feature is still his most rewatchable film to date. Excellent central performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt with some strong performances from mostly unknown cast (Lukas Haas and Richard Roundtree would be only other noticeable faces). Emilie de Ravin was pretty well known I guess at the time for Lost too.

I would have liked a stronger actress in Lauren's role, I felt Nora Zehetner didn't seem comfortable with the 40's film noir dialogue. And didn't have that sexy femme fatale thing going for her. De Ravin was good as Emily, I think she acted well in her only really scene worth of acting. I think besides maybe the actress who plays Kara, I think Johnson could have casted his female roles a lot stronger imo. For me it's really the only weak thing in the film maybe with the third act not been as exciting as the first two parts.

Noah Fleiss as Tugger was great as was Matt O'Leary as the Brian. Like Gordon-Levitt, they felt at home with the dialogue and their roles. I like the script and dialogue in the film and think it's the films strongest part.

Anyone else think this is Johnson's best film.

Like you, I agree that it is his most rewatchable film and best film to date. I disagree about the performances of Nora Zehetner and Meagan Good.

Noah Fleiss and Gordon-Levitt were fantastic.

I agree with you, but Meagan Good was definitely the biggest "star" actress in this movie.
