Anyone else find it shocking that this movie got a rated r rating . The Language and violence were not that Bad for a rated movie
shareNo, but the entire plot revolved around heavy drug use and murder, all done by teenagers. Not exactly family friendly material there.

I think it has to do with the on-screen drug use (Tug and others are shown smoking joints) and where Dode is shot in the head. Even though it is shot in profile it was still pretty graphic. I think with very few edits it could've been PG-13.
yeah, the headshot was graphic enough, even though it was at a distance. and the heavy drug theme. it felt R rated but only just barely.
