If you think the dialogue is 'unrealistic' you're a moron.

Not because the dialogue IS realistic, it's not. The reason you're a moron is because the dialogue is not SUPPOSED to be realistic. This isn't supposed to be an accurate dissection of teenage life. It's a hard boiled film noir, complete with dialogue, transposed onto a suburban California high school.

To me, it was more like over easy or scrambled film noir. Not my cup of tea, but I tried to like it.

Exactly. I was a little put off by the dialogue at first, but then when I realized that it takes place in some alternate reality where there's only like 2 adults and everyone talks like their in a noir, I found it very enjoyable.

The dialog is not the problem really. It's the setting. I don't mind Neo Noir at all. I was intrigued by the premise. Doing Neo Noir in high school, why the hell not? The acting is even very good. But the cinematography, constant blazing sun and direction are just neo-highschool crap. Nothing noir about it. So you have a noir plot with dialogs and characters completely at odds with what's on the screen. It's lacking atmosphere.

If you think this dialogue is good you're a moron. Not really, i just hate your pompous *beep* where anyone who doesn't like the dialogue is stupid. I thought this movie blew. Every single movie on this website has the same "you're a moron" story. it doesn't make me think you know more about movies it makes me think your 15.

didn't like the dialogue, knew i wouldn't like the movie during that rubiks cube scene at the beginning. it was so annoying. this is "cool" dialogue for the sake of having "cool" dialogue. which is annoying.

I agree with everything you said except where you call people morons. Why do you have to do that? But putting people in a defensive position, they're less able to consider what you say. Tell them they might be mistaken, or that you have something for them to consider, but don't be unnecessarily abrasive.

OP...thank you, Morons.
