Funniest Scene

When Brendan got chased by his attacker half way through the movie and made him trip quite badly. I laughed out loud at the sound of his head hitting the ironbar, I just couldn't help it.
Anyone else as sick as me?

reply

Haha, I spilled milk out of my nose when I saw that :P

reply

Lol I said ouch and then started laughing.

I don't have a library card, but do you mind if I check you out

reply

Yeah, that sound was pretty good. But I wouldn't trade it for Pin's mom... or the pitcher.

reply

im pretty sure the part with Tug running back in to put the chicken pitcher back on the table was the best.

reply

I got the feeling that was a mistake, and they just left it in as it was so funny!

reply

That was good. I also laughed pretty hard when Brendan gets into the Pins minivan, and Pins' sitting there with a lamp next to him. It was just so odd i couldn't stop laughing.

reply

The Pins minivan was very random and funny.

there may be a boogie man or boogie men in the house:Homer Simpson.

reply

Well with this movie, I kept wondering when some adults or parents were going to show up. And the first time a real adult is in the movie is when he's at Pin's house and Pin's like, "Let's go meet the real world," and it's his mom serving them juice and cereal. The shot where she like hugs pin and he's just staring at brandon, with a cookie on a napkin in front of him, was just too f-ing funny for words.

reply

But before there was Assistant V.P. Trueman, but I agree the scene in the kitchen was hilarious

reply

"is there a fight?"
"yeeeeeea"

reply

Of course, just the fact that the high school's assistant VP and major disciplinarian is the man who famously played "Shaft" is hilarious right there.

I agree about The Pin's mom, but also have a sneaking fondness for Brendan starting to beat up Dode and challenging all Dode's nearby hophead friends to take a punch at him: "I got all five senses and I slept last night. That puts me six up on the lot of you." And when they wisely choose not to, and he finishes smacking Dode around and getting the info and turns to leave, one of them feebly calls after him to not come back or else!

reply

where everyone's laying low because of the upcoming 'war', and tug's crew are just watching bugs bunny or something.

oh and the pinivan. love that thing.

reply

ah yes the pinvan

reply

I lol'd so hard when I saw Tug's crew just all standing around watching cartoons before the war.

reply

Definitely Pin's house with Lukas Haas, and the mother. This is virtually the only part of the movie where the kids are actually treated like kids, and it's hilarious because it sort of jolts you back to reality.

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

reply

i loved that scene, but I'm particularly fond of the moment when he punched out dode and his friends are about to attack and brendan goes "i've got all five senses and I slept last night, that puts me 6 up on the lot of ya" (sorry if that was a misquote)

reply

"And stay out, man."

reply

I love the "brown-bagged it" line.

reply

did anyone find the confrontation scene funny with tugger and brendan in the parking lot? brendan was about to smash his mustang and tugger comes walking up fast, so fast its funny watching him. brendan says he wants to see the pin and gets punch by tugger...yet brendan stands back up repeatedly, only to get repeatedly knocked down by tugger (once by the car door). and in the end...brendan wants to see the pin and tugger says something like, i guess you do. i thought that was amusing.

reply

The scene where Tug kept laying him out was sweet. I was wondering by the end why he didn't follow it up by driving over Brendan.

reply

Brad: Yo, who invited you?
Brendan: To...the parking lot?

Also, when Tug spots Brendan about to smash his car. The image of Tug walking across the parking lot, more like "waddling", cracks me up.

Back off! ... Way off!

reply

...that part wasn't supposed to be funny, willow sunshine.

reply

I loved the part when Brendan starts a fight with Brad Bramish:
"Okay you got me, I'm a scout for the gophers. Been watching you play for the last couple of months, but that story there? You just clenched it! You got spirit kid, how soon can you be in Minneapolis?"
"Yeah?"
"Cold winters, but they got a great public transit system."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Oh yeah?"
"There's a thesaurus in the library. Yeah's under Y. Go ahead I'll wait."
Hahahaha! Brendan is awesome.

reply

I agree that the scenes with the Pin's mother and the chicken pitcher are the funniest in the film. (Gotta love a happy mom who serves drinks from a chicken pitcher to all of the gang members assembled for a tense 4:00 AM meeting on the verge of gang warfare.)

But I still have to mention another simple scene toward the end of the film that also made me howl with laughter: Kara's latest lapdog being sent to fetch Kara's shoes in the middle of her tense confrontation with Brendan. What a hoot!
