Two years ago I made a thread here on IMDB. I posted (in that thread two years ago) that two years before then I'd posted a thread that this movie sucked.

I've now watched it again, 6 years after my first time seeing it.

Still sucks. Still the most boring, unenjoyable, and downright pretentious film ever created in the entire history of cinema. This the worst movie of all time. Nothing has ever been this bad, nor will anything be this bad again.

Agreed! Brick was sophomoric garbage in every way. I managed to make it through the VP scene (about 40 minutes) but it was impossible to finish. Hey, movie, no matter how hard you try you are not clever...work on it! This reminding me a little of another horrible film called Mallrats where teenagers were given thesauri for brains but couldn't express the dialogue in any believable or relatable way.

P.S. Don't bother telling me that I didn't "get it" or that I should go watch Transformers 2 because I did "get it" and I still believe the robots in Brick were a lot worse.

I love that people are saying "you just don't get it if the dialogue turned you off" when it isn't really the slang that makes the movie unbearable, it's the inconsistency of the characters' personalities and pretentious loaded bloviating while the pacing ricochets off walls pre-built for a certain over-semanticized cabaret.

If they'd changed the dialogue to be believable, like the way teenagers talk, it still would have been pretentious and forced, but also still in a story that just isn't that interesting. This is a prime example of style over substance, of plot points over plotting. Complete garbage.

I just revisited it too. I initially gave it 7/10. Upgrading to 8/10. Your obsession with this very good movie is a compliment to it :)

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!
