ceiling fan trick
Does anyone know how thy achieve that effect? No search has given me an answer or understands my question. Breaking bad does it too.

camera mounted on turntable turned at the same speed to match the ceiling fan. Pretty simple, but would take some time to line up and spin at the exact matching speed. Probably be easier with today's small HD cameras, but this was shot 35 mm so I imagine the size of those cameras made it tricky.
shareAll they'd have to do is mount the camera on a wheel and spin it at roughly the same speed as the fan. Not too unusual.
Yeah, Breaking Bad uses the odd camera position a lot. Inside the pot cooking, inside the hole in the ground, mounted on the end of a gun, etc. It got to be a trademark effect of the show.
I think its much more simple then some rotating camera gadgets. Its probably just a much wider shot of the cieling and then cropped down afterwards so the whole frame could be rotated the other way, making the fan look still.
shareYou can achieve the same effect yourself visually if you are on your back looking at a ceiling fan. Pick one blade of the fan and follow it around with your eyes.
