How long was the actual film?

I've heard that a lot of the frames haven't survived, but no clear explanations have been given... Were there enough frames to make this a 5-second film? A 30-second film? A 5-minute film?

Apparently; only the photographic content ever survived, when it was recreated via the photo frames during the 1920's, it ran at 12fps. So about 2-3 seconds long.
