'Come here, I will freshen your breath'

Was anyone else bothered by this? I mean he was talking to his parents.

reply

For me it is bothering, no doubt. But during the movie I guessed that it was American humor style and did not care about it.

That was indeed a very strange thing to say to one's father. It was one of several incongruous scenes in the film.

Yeah, pretty gross. My wife and I can't really figure out who the target audience was. A lot seemed to be for kids, but way too much adult content for that to be the goal.

this movie was def not meant to be a kids movie. far from it.

I found it odd. I've known someone to tell their parents to kiss their ass. I guess this was just a little more detailed. Clever but disturbing.

It crossed my mind for ONLY a second, other than that I found it to be a hilarious comeback. I guess he meant it in a f-you way. Like..s*ck my d*ck. Hehe.. I don't know. I agrer it's a weird thing to say to your parents.. But it was subtle enough to be believable. They seemed like really funny, tolerant parents who'd allow those sort of comments to be made.

It was merely a topical come back based on his dad telling him his schmeckle was like a tiny little Tic Tac. It made total sense as an "eff you pop" come back said in the same humorous vein as his parents ribbing him about his penis size when he was a baby. If his dad had said "your schmeckle was like a tiny garden hose" he might have come back with, "yeah, come here and I'll water your face." Not gross, just topical.
