Music change on Netflix streaming

I have the DVDs and admittedly have re watched the series many times. I recently wanted to watch it again just turned the series on in my Netflix streaming. I must say I am very disappointed in the music changes. I realize this probably has to do with licensing, but it really does make a difference! The original music was so perfect and even haunting! I think it made the first few episodes as great as they were. It's a shame that it had to be changed.

Speaking of which, I'm watching this for the first time on netflix now. While I'm reaaaally not a fan of the song that goes with the credits, I'm a huge fan of the epic music they play while kinda prefacing the series and explaining in 44 seconds what the shows really about. Has words on the screen but no lyrics or anything...just a short instrumental kinda thang. Any info about it? Also if this chick singing during the credits isn't the original, then what actually does play in the real thing? I loved seasons 1-2...3 is kinda weird so far but we'll see!

This is a really boring repetitive song, and that is in the same style but inferior to the song they replaced it with, so really no big loss. Especially since the lyrics to the new song are appropriate to the concept.

Whispery, new agey girl pop.

Do you mean the opening song? Because from what I recall, that was always hauntingly beautiful and contained "another time, another place, I can feel your heartbeat". That was the original song used on TV and is also on Netflix so I'm a bit confused if that's the song you're making reference to. If it is, man that is my favorite opening song of any series I've ever seen and I can't ever forget it.
