so I'm just starting to watch....what can I expect?

I'm into the 4th episode and as of now seems pretty interesting.
But I have a habit of checking msg boards for opinions and seems that I may
Be a bit disappointed towards the end. Granted, I was told that for 'LOST'
but I Love 'Lost' and am watching it again for the 4th (or5th) time.
So...my friendly IMDB '4400' significants: what can I expect? Does it
really turn into just a 'soap opera' thing with no longer "why we're they
taken...?" as the center of reasoning?
Was this series a casualty of the writers strike?
I would be very disappointed to find out that no questions were answered
And that I'm just left hanging....which Is what I don't want.
So....discuss. Anxious to read what some will have to say.
