I got Netflix recently, within the last few months. As a fan of science fiction and similar programs, "The 4400" kept appearing on the "Recommended for You" category. After getting hooked by the pilot, I binge-watched the whole series. It was very good. I reminded a little bit of Lost in the sense that the show will mess with your head.
As a science fiction fan, I've watched or at least heard of most modern science fiction shows. I'm surprised that I never heard of this show before Netflix!
I just finished watching the pilot and on #2. It's been on my Netflix list a long time I just never got around to watching it. So far I like but a few more episodes I'll have a better idea.

Thanks, I will. I just wished they would have a final season rather than quitting without properly closing out the story but it doesn't look good after all this time.
From Wikipedia:
Cancellation: Writer and co-creator Scott Peters announced on December 18, 2007, that due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, budgetary problems, and lower-than-anticipated ratings, The 4400 had been cancelled and would not be returning for a fifth season, despite the fourth season's cliff-hanger.[2] Fans of the show mounted an unsuccessful campaign to resurrect the series, sending petitions and sunflower seeds to SciFi and USA Network president Bonnie Hammer. In April 2008, the campaign shifted to target Jeff Zucker, president and chief executive officer of the NBC/Universal TV group, again without success. Jeff Zucker has failed to comment on any spin-offs in production.
That petition thing has little chance of success as most people have probably given up or will never know it exists. I for one never heard of petition.com until now.
Edited to Add: I don't believe in laws telling businesses what to do but we the people need to contact the Networks and let them know how disappointing it is when they cancel a series without some closure. They don't need a whole season to do that, one special show would do that and they should film/tape that after the first pilot is accepted by a network.

Jerry, I agree with your edit. I always wondered why they can't at least film an alternate ending to wrap things up in case of cancellation. Especially a show that's been around for a few seasons.
