Thats about what I thougt when I read the back of the DVD cover before I was "forced" to see it, but it was really another case of "better than expected". In the beginning, it really looks like a stupid chick flick, but it soon gets better.

I had never seen it before but a friend of mine brought it up and I watched it. I really enjoyed it.

If you really want to know what it is all about read the book. So much better than the movie. I think Cameron Diaz was awful in this movie. She ruined it for me.

I thought it was too long, the pacing was off, and ran out of steam some places. I also thought the dialogue wasn't particularly good. But overall, it wasn't a brainless chick flick I expected about the "unconventionally pretty girl" and her "handsome rescuer who sees her like she really is." The characters were all quite realistic and moving.

Kinda harsh but I guess I agree. I like most of the actors involved, and have been known to enjoy the odd chick-flick but I just found this movie dull. It was so slow paced I ended up snoozing through most of it. YAWN!
