Cringeworthy lines!

I like the film, so let's get that said up front. But for a film about the relationship between sisters, as different as these two, there should have been one or two more scenes reflecting the much talked about 'bond' between them. For most of the film they were estranged or really upsetting each other and I get that it was about unconditional love and forgiveness etc.

BUT, and I haven't read the book, I really did cringe when Rose said that ridiculous statement to Simon " but I never will, because without her, I don't make sense".

Anyone else feel the same way?

The line most definitely borders on maudlin, but personally I wouldn’t call it cringe-worthy, no.

Something I do find cringe-worthy, though, is when Rose gives Maggie the shoes to give back to their grandmother. The way they playfully push each other doesn’t ring at all true to me.
