Does anyone else not like him at all and think he is absolutely awful. I can't stand the character and his constant whining and overly homophobic and racial jokes. It's unrealistic how Vince and them are even friends with him. By far the worst character on the show and he brings it down.

shareI liked Ari a lot in the beginning when he had 1 or 2 scenes per episode, less is often more. once he became more of a focus I found his schtick to get old.

Yeah the person who the character was based on (Ari Emanuel) said he chose Piven for the part himself , said if Piven can't play his character he does not want to be involved

Look, I look at the guys and ENVY the HELL out of the life they live. I would love to be any of them (well, maybe not Drama), OR I would love to be Ari Gold. The boys live the good life with expensive toys and different women daily. Minus the variety in women, Ari lives the same life (and Mrs. Ari is smoking hot anyway).
Bottom line is - Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) is the BEST character and actor on the show and you must not be a real fan if you think he is awful. And as for Vince and the rest being 'friends' with Ari, they do develop into a friendship, but, Ari is Vince's agent!! He isn't one of the boys.
Sorry. No ari no 8 seasons. Made the show and by far the best role in the show. And I love them all !
