Do people still think the BBC version was cancelled?

Just curious as I've seen people refer to the original as being unsuccessful due to it only have two series and the Christmas specials.

There are some, but I assume they are from the US and haven't seen the series. People who watch TV in America, can't understand why a series should have so few episodes and seasons, when they are used to a series having a lot of seasons with an average of 20 episodes. The whole UK series is less than your normal Network TV season.

Maybe they'd understand if The (British) Office were called a mini-series.

They might be the same people who keep asserting that Sherlock was cancelled -- "Well, it wasn't renewed!"
