shareit's my all time favourite movie!
nothing else tops it.
Its up there with my top 5, though dont ask me to rank em.
Shame my friend who is a big fan of SPR thought this sucked because it wasnt in english. Yet he has no problem with watching his import jap anime dvds with subtitles.
Still, in my top 5. Amazing film, it knocks SPR out for 6 in my honest opinion
It`s in Stallone`s.
shareIt's mine number 7
shareNo, of course not. It's a good movie. But one the greatest movies ever made? No.
shareit's up there somewhere.. i can't deny the fact that i've never been so emotionally wrapped in a film. i didn't expect to cry so much or even at all. it was nothin less than stellar, and in the war genre, there is no equal.
"60% of the time, it works every time"
It was a fine movie for me, but no where near the top 5 or even 10. It brings along a talented cast, the actor who plays Jin-Tae was amazing. The special effects are also a plus.
The number one killer for this movie is repetitiveness. I got the fact that the brothers cared for each other, but there was way too many repetitive scenes. After so many scenes of arguments amoung brothers, Jin-Seok has just started to look downright bratty and annoying. Those were not the only repetitive scenes though, check out the melee and fist fighting scenes, dragging out so darn long it became a bore, just watch the last scene where the brothers fight. Not only do they hit each other about a couple dozen times with their fists, they start hitting each other with the end of a rifle butt, but yet they still stand and do the same for the next 5 minutes. Right.....
Overall its a good movie, but nowhere near perfect. I especially hated the fact that years pass between every 20 minutes, not to mention that they come up in such a sudden fashion. One scene has the brothers sitting down and talking about their home, and then SUDDENLY its 1951 and they are yet AGAIN in the MIDDLE of a battle. Now I understand that for the movie to play out with their script, they would have to do that. Still, this story would be best told through a mini-series, not a film.
The battle scenes themselves were well done, despite its repetitiveness. Again, there's only so many different ways a person could jerk everytime hes shot, punched, or blown up.
Movie Moment: Jin-Tae pulls a gernade pin with his teeth with ease. This is technically almost impossible giving the fact that it requires a large amount of force and grip. Of course, it looks cool right?

2. Kill Bill

6. Gamera 3
7. GMK
8. Brotherhood
9. NANA
10. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Woww, I dunno...there are an awful lot of films I like.
But yeah it could definitely be up there. The only reason I don't watch it too much is because it's pretty emotionally draining. But it's still amazing.
