This film was amazing. I don't really want to watch it again, because it's kind of difficult to watch. I cried an awful lot watching this film, which is quite a feat for the producers, seeing as I watched it with subtitles(I'm English.)

It really showed the horrific things war can do, aside from the killing and destruction, it can also tear apart families, completely mentally *beep* people up, and even split a country apart completely.

I thought the best scenes were:
The one where the suspected traitors(including Jin-Soeks wife/girlfriend)
The brick-bashing scene
The fight in the trenches
The bit on the train where they are forced to fight
The end where he is an old man and he sees his brothers skeleton

This is a bloody brilliant movie, and unlike full metal jacket, or platoon, or saving private ryan, it really did make me want to do something about all this conflict and war in the world.

I love the scene in the city where they try capture the NK general, the action set piece in that scene, and surrounding scenes are brilliant. I agree with all
the scenes you mention here. this movie was a lot more emotionally intense than
SPR, I think it was more personal. The final scenes are particularly sad, when he cries at his brothers skeleton, you know that's all he can do now.

A wonderfully moving and personal story, coupled with some of the most violent
war scenes ever shot. Relentless.
