Curious as that would be a big shame if they didn't.

Pretty sure they made their money back + more. It was a hit movie in asia and when it was played in the US hordes of koreans packed every single seat. (From my korean friends experience)

It definitely did. I just read a bit on wikipedia and they spent 12.8 million on it. It earned 1.1 million in the U.S and 68.7 million worldwide, becoming the 75th highest grossing film of 2004.
