How bloody/gruesome is this movie?

I like to watch war movies on occasion and while I'm not particularly squeamish I try to avoid movies with too much gore. I'm just curious how this movie rates in thie gruesome factor, are we talking Hostel type blood and guts or is it a war movie along the lines of Letters from Iwo Jima?

Thanks for any info on this movie

I would compare the gruesome factor with "Saving Private Ryan".

I think the most nasty scene is where they check a dressing on a wounded man and find that his wound is covered in maggots. If you can handle that, the rest isn't that bad.

I would say it's more bloody/gruesome than Saving Private Ryan. Both the intensity and duration of the violence is significantly more than SPR and some of the gore is about the same as Flags of Our Fathers. Dismemberment, headshots, exploding bodies, a brual stoning, It also features a lot of hand-to-hand combat which is quite intense and at times, wearing.

I was hearing girls struggling not to become sick while watching it for class. Not sure if that helps, but there you go.

Those girls are... -.-

weak?

Human, more likely.

I would believe that, it's pretty brutal most of the way through. everything is in your face

This is by far the most graphic war film I've seen –ceaselessly violent, but not glamorous. It displays the real physical and emotional effects of war.

Hmm it's really strange, I actually realllyyy hate gory movies. A lot of people say this movie is gory but when i watched it, i didn't find it really that gory at all.

The reason is I believe that this film is not violent for the seek of being violent. It's a movie about the tragedies and traumas of the war, and rendering the horrors of war on screen is a way of making viewers feel what the heroes go through. If there is something gory it's war itself.
