I have heard that the subtitles on this movie are quite bad. And that, if u don't know Korean u miss out a lot(I can understand that. I saw subtitled 'Salam bombay' with a friend who didnt understand Hindi, and I was surprised that he actually understood the plot, but I know that he missed out a lot).
So, those who know Korean- tell me what did I miss, and from what part of the movie was it?

I loaned my copy to my mates Wife who's Korean and she said nothing was taken from the story there was just a lot of sentiment lost in the translation, like dialogue that would have been almost poetic in Korean but came across a little flat and wooden in the subtitles. You need to understand the subtitles have to keep up with the dialogue. I'm a native English speaker but also speak French and I've noticed that the English subtitles in French movies abridge the dialogue rather than translate it directly in order I guess to give the viewer time to look at the screen once in a while.
My opinion is my property, be careful with it please!
I lot of times you can almost tell when something isn't exactly right. There was one scene where they subbed "bastards" about 5 times in 5 minutes. I was pretty sure there was a bit more color to it than that. It is more complicated than that, but if it's a well done movie, you can still get the...I don't know, the proper emotion of the scene and realize it's not ever going to be as if you can understand the language.
