BEST WAR MOVIE EVER 10/10
Compared to Hollywood this one is the BEST!! If you cant handle subtitles, too bad, because you're going to miss out on something truly special.

Cliched and dramatic hero movie. Definitely not something truly special.
shareIt was a decent flick but definitely NOT even close to being the best war movie. I can name a bunch that are better without even thinking much on it:
Saving Private Ryan
Full Metal Jacket
Black Hawk Down
Platoon
Apocalypse Now
A Bridge Too Far
Das Boot
Gallipoli
The Battle of Algiers
The Longest Day
Patton
And those are just about 20th century wars. There's a lot more great movies about earlier conflicts.
Platoon isn't that great. After Dafoe does the iconic pose, the movie loses itself.
Private Ryan has amazing battle scenes but is also over rated and over shadows plenty of other war films.
Apocalypse Now is probably the second best.
Of course thats your opinion and these are mine. I can't say much about the others as I haven't seen them.
But, IMO, Brotherhood is the most eye opening war movie I've seen. It also has spectacular battle scenes and superb acting.
Black hawk down, you must be joking....you will throw hamburger Hill in your list next !!

This is very Hollywood movie, too sentimental and too much fighting.. But it's good, 7-8/10.
The Thin Red Line is the best war movie, also my favorite movie of all time.
I didn't have any high expectations on this one and I was totally blown away. I agree that this is the best war movie of all time and I think it's better than ones that someone else here mentioned. Ofcourse it's just a matter of taste right :)
shareI thought it was a good film, very emotionally intense, it wasn't easy for me to watch at all, but that's what the makers of this film wanted to do here. The subtitles in English were a bit toned down from what many of the actors said in Korean, or in other words, there were plenty of f bombs in this film.
