Because it is a realistic look at the mindless, shallow superficial lives that (some) of these people live. I used to live in South London, I can confirm that London pubs are full of mugs like these, either real, or (even worse, imagine actually aspiring to this kind of lifestyle) counterfeit. At least this film is realistic, unlike Green Street, which was awful! I've yet to see ID, which I'm told is the best film covering this topic, but then I don't go out of my way to watch these sort of films...It's just bubblegum for the mind...I have seen The Firm, however, and though it excellent (if a little dated)...

So if I enjoy watching Goodfellas it means I want to join the mob? Yes Goodfellas is a superior film but have you ever heard the expression art imitating life?
