Dr. Strangelove reference?

I'm sorry to say that I saw this movie while on a plane. There was nothing else to do, so I slipped on my headphones to watch the in-flight movie, which happened to be Ms. Congeniality 2...
While watching, I noticed what I thought to be a Dr. Strangelove reference. When Gracie is at the elderly care center, dressed as Ida and trapped in that wheelchair, she's talking to Stan's mother. Then something happened (I forget what), which made her stand up out of her wheelchair in excitement. Sam, of course, exclaimed 'Ida, you can walk!'

Is it just me or is that a reference to Dr. Strangelove? Maybe I'm in delusions, I don't know.

Hope is a heavenly jewel with starlight radiating from its facets.
