I watched the deleted scenes, and Jeffrey Tambor was shown playing the limousine driver, "Tom Abernathy". However, the role in the real scenes was played by Stephen Tobolowsky. They are both fine character actors, but why the switch? Does anyone know?
shareI was accually wondering the same thing. I have no clue. Maybe they decided that the scene needed changed and Tambor couldn't (due to his scheudal) or wouldn't (I'll admit, he was pretty funny in the original scene) appear to redo it. I don't know, that was just a guess.

I'm guessing because in the editing room, they decided that that scene was a little too long and that they had to delete it and make a more condensed version that gets the same point across. So when they did reshoots, he probably wasn't available to play the character so they had Stephen do it.
shareApparently for some reason, the scene had to be re-shot and Tambor's schedule with ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT might not have allowed him the time to re-shoot the scene.
