What happened to Benjamin Bratt??

Why was he not in the sequel. Did he not want to do it, or did the film makers not want him?

reply

studio couldnt afford him

reply

yha, that's what I'm guessing too.

It seems as though they were bent on making the cheapest/most-ridiculous sequel possible - and that would of course include getting rid of Benjamin Bratt w/ a 2 minute phone call & throwing in Regina King with nothing funny to add to the movie whatsoever.

reply

I'm not sure about this, but I think I heard he didn't want to be in the movie. I could be wrong though.

true

reply

True, he didn't want to be in the sequel, but I couldn't care less. He wasn't needed.

Benjamin Bratt's presence was sorely missed in this movie and the producers should have offered him the sun and the moon to appear.. I think his presence might have heped this movie a lot.

reply

his prescence may have helped but he was not NEEDED regina king was really good and i thought the film was really good but benjamin bratt wasn't able to appear in it for 'other' reasons!!!

reply

Regina King was miscast in what was basically a very unpleasant character who I had a great deal of difficulty warming up to.

reply

Didn't he take a break from acting or something?
I don't know, I think Regina King did a fabulous job being the new partner and stuff.

I think the OP understood what happened where the characters were concerned. I think they were wondering why the actor didn't appear in the movie.
