the answer is no, they do not, niether vera nor camilla, vera dies in the middle of the film by an earthquake, and camilla by TB, she dies mins before ending, he burries her and returns after year only to discover that the terrain has seriously changed and has hard time locating the grave. and yes i wont ask you to watch the film coz that is dopey, the person may not be able to do what all those people suggest to watch the film, thats the very reason the question is asked, not coz the person asking the question is dumb like those who will tell to watch the film. besides only do what you are asked to, dont be clever trever

In a way yes, they do end up together, even though she dies shortly before the end. If you like "happy endings", then totally go for the movie and don't go nowhere near the book.

I LOVE the book but hated the movie. I don't like fake, artificial, hollywood like happy endings. In the book it's clear that Camila is way too *beep* up to love anyonen apart herself, she doesn't love Arturo or Sammy, she loves the idea of becoming someone she is not in order to be accepted by society. She spirals into lunacy because of the maryjuana and all the demons inside her head and wanders into the Mojave to die (unfortunately taking that lovely puppy with her). The movie just opted for an ending happy enough to please romantic old ladies.

Whatever, I just watched this because both Colin and Salma are hot as hell. The book is the real story for me.
