Is Ben Wade an antihero?

I'm not sure if he's the protagonist of the story in the strictest sense of the word, but I view him as the lead character simply because he is developed the most. His sense of honor, or whatever you want to call it, came through at the end and he located a bit of his own humanity.

Thoughts?

I'd call Ben an antihero and Dan a tragic hero.

Absolutely, however Russel Crowe is much more hero than villain in his portrait of Ben Wade
