The gay accusations are ridiculous

Every time 2 males have some sort of bond people shout "gay." I mean come on, it's clear Prince is obsessed with his boss, but it's to the point of worship. When he knocks the guy on the ground and asks them to "remember what he did for us" it's clear that Ben Wade did something for him(probably bring him out of his boring poor life) and make them all wealthy, living what they consider a good life.

People even criticized his choice of clothing saying he was more "stylish" than the rest of the gang(meaning he wore a button leather coat) which is bordering on pathetic. In the end, Prince draws his weapon because his intuition finally tells him that Ben didn't want to be helped and was about to kill them all. If he really did have these gay feelings for Ben do you think he would have drawn his weapon to kill him? I have absolutely no problem with homosexuality, but there's no need to force it where it doesn't belong.

Ben is his boss, he's his boss's lieutenant, it's strictly platonic.

edit: By the way, people claiming that Foster added a feminine act to his performance, check out 30 days of night. It's pretty much the same performance amped up, it's just his style.

I know exactly what you mean. People accuse Holmes and Watson of being gay, too.

I agree. I think people are so quick to make gay remarks. I thought Ben's performance was pretty awesome and I thought his "stylish dress" helped him stand out from the other characters as well as his soft voice. He was suppose to be different and not the typical macho-man type. Sly, cunning, cold, mean and a KILLER who enjoys killing.

I agree too. It's like that Brokeback mountain flick. That's just a story about a couple of cowboys, looking after horses, cows and sh*t, having a few beers and generally just hanging out being buds.

But noooo, the pink police try to make out its a big gay love in. pah pathetic

;)

and in case you missed the first one ;)(wink)

Just rewatched the scene, never heard what you claimed. What's the exact point it occurs?

Well to be completely honest considering how long ago I made this post I've pretty much lost all interest in it, but I see where you're coming from. If I remember correctly my post was made out of anger because of how whenever 2 men have a close platonic relationship, gay accusations are brought up. I doubt it really had to do with this specific film.

Thanks for you input anyway, and for pointing out that line I missed.

You people have got it all twisted. It's obviously McElroy who is gay.

The way he pronounces 'Princess' with a telling longing... hoping that the suspicions he had about Prince would prove true. And his obsession with Wade is all about unrequited love.

I think Dan Evans' wife may have been gay too. Remember how he said that she never looked at him anymore? She probably married him as an alibi.

I thought he was gay. Who wears large silver buttons on their coat?

Charlie gets pissed when he says he'll wait for Wade but Wade says fine Charlie. Charlie huffs and walks away.

The Pinkerton even says "I heard of a balled up whore named Charlie Princess."

I would hardly call Wade and Prince as having a bond. Wade didn't seem at all enamored with Prince or any of his other men.

I thought he was simply a former Confederate officer, given that he was wearing a CSA officer's coat.

I think this just shows what a brilliant performance it was by Ben Foster. Some people see a certain look he gives to Wade and interpret it as an extremely loyal right hand man. Some people see that same look and interpret it with homosexual undertones.

reply

I agree. No way Prince was gay.

Gayists think EVERYTHING has to be gay. Just a bunch of narcissistic schlubs.

Regarding his outfit, I think it was done to pay homage to the old spaghetti westerns, where characters were often portrayed in a more stylized way than what was realistic at the time. It made the character stand out and give him a sense of "cool". Foster was great in this role, and I think if the costume department had given him some typical, plain Western garb of the period, he wouldn't have been as memorable as he was. I think his guns and the way they were holstered also reflects this. He was just an awesome character.

The relationship between Ben Wade and Charlie Prince, in my opinion, mirrors the one between Big Boss and Ocelot (from the MGS series).

HAHAHA!!!!!!!!

That's AWESOME!!!

"Gay ACCUSATIONS!!!"

Like being gay is a CRIME and therefore something of which to be ACCUSED!!

And all the he-ain't-gay-ers, defending to the DEATH that HE AIN'T GAY!!! They're just BOSS AND WORKERBEE!!!

Now you can all go back into your closets and resume fapping to the Top Gun volleyball scene.

Everyone is gay, duh!

I have to agree with the OP as this happens in every movie that has come out in the last 5 years or so.
