The third act is so good.

This film is a solid action western, but its the third act that really elevates it and distinguishes it from the original film.

The third act is where the writing comes to full form and we see the two leads bond.
It also is where Beltrami's great soundtrack comes to fruition and all the performances are rock solid.

You seriously need to watch more Westerns.

mgt may well be the most obsessed hater on IMDb. And that is REALLY saying something!

You seriously need to watch more Westerns, too.

It was good not great till that third act. When it began, BOOM.

Actually the third act effectively sinks the film. I never found the "bond" between the two principals to be convincing or understandable. It seemed almost like a pretext to allow for Russell Crowe's puzzling and illogical behavior in this film.
