why did the horse ran away tracing the train ?
I mean it's not like his whistle is that loud, the train's noise should well cover his whistles. There is no way the horse could hear his whistle over the trains.

shareHorses have good hearing and it's easy to pick out a sound you recognize, even with a lot of background noise. Wade wanted the kid to understand what his father went through and accomplished. So Wade got on the train to go to Yuma for the kid to see. But he was going to escape as soon as possible. So he whistled for the horse, who recognized him and came as commanded. Wade may have escaped on the horse as soon as the train went around the corner, or perhaps waited till a later time. The horse bit was just a very slick metaphor about the state of things and the real values of Ben's efforts.
