UK Release?!

Yo, i just read somewhere that this is going to be released in the UK in July of this year. Does anybody know if this is true or not? Please oh please oh please...

reply

I heard this on a dvd site that it's being released in the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand, but not for public sale, which means the only place aussies, the brits and the new zelanders can watch it is if they rent it from a video store or order it on amazon, which is a trevesty!!

reply

you can order it from playusa, part of play.com. it is region 1, but if you want it that bad then its a must. i bought it about a week ago and it works perfectly on my computer.

reply

So like... its going to 'Straight to video' ?! If it is I will be well faced. I want adverts and the whole shebang!

reply

I'm affraid it's a "straight to DVD" film...

I'll always love you Evan Rachel Wood

I just saw on the imdb list of films that are comin out this year in UK that pretty persuasion is on it and there weren't any other DVDs on it so maybe it's going to the cinema after all? I sure hope so...

It's just been released here in the UK but it's only available in a handful of cinemas. Go to www.odeon.co.uk and check out the listings.

I saw it today in Covent Garden, London, and there were exactly TWO other people in the cinema with me...

reply

18 in the uk?

wow its only 16 in ireland, that doesnt happen often, usually the censors here give the same rating or higher as their uk counterparts. must be down to the c word!

reply

Cineworld in West India Quay (London Docklands) have a print, so if you're anywhere within London, it's the place to go. It's not a "west end" cinema and so has sensible prices.

Just saw this tonight - good film. Only place in Scotland to be showing it seems to be the UGC in Edinburgh.

reply

Saw the film in Edinburgh and couldn't understand why I hadn't heard of it before. I went with a friend and we just chose it because we'd seen nearly everything else on. I presumed it was going to be poor because I'd never heard it mentioned. But I loved it, as did my friend. I think it helped that I knew nothing about it because the way it's structured, I wasn't sure whether Mr. Anderson had assaulted the girls or not. I'd really like to get it on DVD and it's a shame if it's only going to be on region 1.

reply

I also really fail to understand why it was given an 18 when there was no nudity and no violence and I've seen so much worse in 15s.

i bought this film when i was in America on my holidays cos it was the only place for me to get it cos its only released in region 1 or what ever it is and it works fine on computers

On the dvd case it has no rating just a "parental permission reccommended" sticker

but the film is great Evan plays the roll very well
