Hi, I was just wondering if this film will be released in Australia? If so, does anyone know the release date for Australia?

ahh i really want to see this movie!! does anyone know if it's coming to brisbane???
shareIs there any other information on release dates in Australia? Or will it only be limited to the Melbourne Film Festival? Limited release in movie theatres such as the Dendy's? Maybe it's another movie us Aussies will have to buy or rent when it comes to DVD.
shareWell the OFLC website still doesn't have anything on it, and they tend to rate films well before their release date.
Any ideas as to what the rating will be?
I think it'll be 'R', although judging by the way some people have been carrying on about it, it might have a fair case of being banned. I doubt that though.

There are also films that are R in America that are R here. By the same token, some films that have been rated NC-17 are M or MA here. It's not that black and white.

i heard that when it was at the melbourne film festival, it was rated 'E' - exempt from classification.
even though it isn't technically banned, i dont know if non-rated movies get released on dvd in australia. we might have to order it online! (which sucks because i am still dying to see this movie)
The OFLC website states that no film is permitted a release in australia without a classification, so sadly, unless someone extracts the digit and gets Pretty Persuasion a release here, it looks like we're ordering it, Aussies.

I've talked to members of the OFLC a number of times before regarding some of their ratings. Sometimes they actually listened (when Commando was released on DVD I got them to re-rate it because it was heavily cut, it's actually now rated MA even though Fox never changed the slicks), sometimes they didn't (in 1998 I pleaded with them to include an R rating for games).
That all being said I'd put money on this receiving an MA from the OFLC. The dialogue is very course but the simulated sex acts are very mild and never explicit. The only issue MIGHT be the very quick flashback showing Evan's character having anal sex. But I still think it's MA all the way.
There is no way this is getting an RC. It's no Ken Park.

We're releasing PRETTY PERSUASION on DVD towards the end of April 2006.
For those of you interested in it's rating, I'm just about to submit it for classification, my bet is that it'll get an MA rating. A decision from the OFLC
is due 5 January 2006.

There is no way in hell that this would get anything other than an MA, just to contradict all my previous statements.
As for all the "crude shocking langhuage" everyone was on about, I don't see what was so shocking - things like that have been said in other movies...

The official release date of PP in video stores is April 26th and the rating is MA15+ for Strong Sexual References and Strong Coarse Languge...but I think they're only releasing it for hire and not for public sale...like they do to many other films[rolleyes]

i went on the website, i wonder why they released the aussie dvd with a different poster? its gross! i like the original one better :)
