Anyone agree? She really looks like Jena with brunette hair. Also in trivia, Jena Melone was considered for the role.

I really didn't like Evan in this film. I have never said that before. I think she is one of the most talented actresses on the screen at the moment and after 13 I thought she was nail this part. Bitterly dissapointed. I think Jena would have done a much better job. I'm not sure that Evan reminded me of her, but after finding out Jena was considered, it made a lot of sense. I think this would have been the perfect part for her and maybe that's why you thought of Jena as I don't think she looks like Evan

I agree with ihategorgonzola ill probably get alot of *beep* for this but i thought jenna was too sweet and i didnt like her in donnie darko. I couldnt take her seriously in united states of leeland she looks wayy to nice to have dont the things she did. I think she was great in saved but evan can play twisted great the way she delivers makes it so much more believable. Even though her roles are very similar.

I thought she channeled existential teenage porn actress Ms Sasha Grey in this movie... If anyone is familiar with Sasha Grey's work they know what I am talking about... And when Evan has dark hair they kind of look a like. pic below.

I totally agree! I used to see this movie in my local movie store and from the cover I thought it was Jena. Even when I'd picked it up and looked at the cover up close I thought it was Jena. I don't generally think the two look alike, but with Evan's hair the way it was in this film she looked just like her! In my mind I was literally thinking in some shots if I paused it I would barely be able to tell the difference between the two. So lookswise Evan completely reminded me of Jena in this movie! However, her voice is completely different. Her voice was actually reminding me of Michelle Williams (I know, I couldn't stop comparing her to other actresses, something I don't usually do). As strange as that sounds does anyone else feel the same way (about the voice simularities)?
shareI see what you're saying, not because of the way she looked but because of the way she carried herself and the way she spoke. There was a lot of internal monologues and observation in her character. Jenna usually acts that way, a lot of internal stuff happening. Well, I am glad they got Evan to do it, I think she did a fantastic job! She has the confidence Jenna doesn't have. Jenna might be pretty (i prefer Evan though for sure, Evan's beautiful) and intelligent, and can bring depth to her characters, but Evan has all of that + that female beauty confidence that was needed for that particular role.
