Very very very disappointed

A pretentious film that doesn live up to its expectations. After seeing the trailer I expected and intelligent social satire and i got an unfunny cliched mess. Evan Rachel Wood was wasted in this, and her wig was very distracting. If it wasnt a wig It sure looked like one. Her character didnt come off as malicious or intelligent like the movie wanted her too. I usually like characters like that, but I didnt like Joyce. The super smart bitchy girl has been played many times and Wood didnt pull it off and came off as a shallow schoolgirl surrounded by idiots waiting to be manipulated, which maybe is the point....i dont know. I didnt care about any of the characters and the jokes were unintelligent and unfunny. I chuckled maybe once the whole time. It seemed like it was trying to be irreverent and crude , and im all for that, but i didnt work. If you want to see real satire watch heathers, election, chumscrubber and even cruel intentions was more entertaining than this.

a waste of time

Its Britney Bitch...

Totally agree, I was expecting something more like Election or Cruel Intentions given the well known cast but instead we got this..... this sarcastic over-done excuse for a black comedy

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

I don't think it was pretentious our the character too unintelligent, btw

"Her character didnt come off as malicious or intelligent like the movie wanted her too."

I think you mean "to," not "too" as in also.

I thought it started off slow and some of the jokes were unfunny, but I think it picked up as it went along as Wood was pretty great as the lead, her dad was great too. I was a bit peeved it was all over a boy, but it was nicely done IMO, not great, but a nice film, with a great performance from E.R. Wood.

But everyone keeps comparing this to "Election" I guess I should give that a watch when I can, since it's supposed to be better
