pretentious film
Pretty Persuasion was obviously a wannabe serious dark comedy. To me, the characters were stereotypical "dark comedy" teenagers. I enjoyed the film, but it didn't live up to it's own expectations. I hope I made sense.

I agree. However I do think that Evan Rachel Wood was great in this. She played evil so well.

That's actually exactly what it was supposed to be. It's kind of a tongue-in-cheek film. That's the point.
What isn't pretentious to people today...?
They say love and money don't mix, but you can't blame Harry Lockheart for trying...
How exactly can a film be pretentious? A film is a thing. It lacks the ability to have emotion, or in this case, pretention. Please explain this to me.
Great film, btw.

Nah, that sig was to correct all the people who don't know what the word actually means.
I changed it recently though.
I am not pretentious, I watch movies and formulate opinions on them if they entertain me or don't. I try to be informed ,though I admit when I'm wrong. I know that's awful and all, but hey.
